Can nerve damage caused by diabetes be repaired?
I have damage in my left hand on the outside palm and finger.
i guess i’m the exception. i’m type 2 diabetic for at least 15 years. about 10 years ago i suffered from severe neuropathy in my legs and went on insulin, oxycontin and neurontin. i couldn’t climb or descend stairs and couldn’t work at a conventional job because of constant pain.
short story… i recovered and no longer take pain killers or neurontin.
bad news… i lost part of my left foot a few years ago.
bad news… i was scheduled for bypass surgery in my left leg.
good news i walked and worked standing up and the surgery was cancelled.
currently i take aspirin and 5mg. rampiril and insulin.
bad news my right eye has a cater act forming and requires surgery. recently a retinologist discovered a leak in my right eye which caused some cloudiness. two days ago i had laser surgery to heal the "blister" on the back of my eye and the cloudiness is gone.
soooo.. you take it as it comes and never lose hope.
my vascular surgeon calls me his miracle. i don’t know about that but i’m 63 and walk a lot every day. maybe deepak chopra is onta something.
good luck…
