What are the supliments that a diabetic can take for nerves and mussels ?

I am an insulin dependent diabetic from past 15 years . I am told diabetes causes nerve damage and weakening of the mussels . What vitamins , minerals or supliments are good to nurish the nerves and preserve mussle vitality ?

The one Vitimin to help protect nerves from damage is Vitamin B 12. Mecobalamin… Note the name . The’re other B 12"s out their ,but this is the one that works best. I think you need prescription for this. I have neuropathy and this is the one drug that really helps.

Good question.

I have nerve pain due to diabetes. Are there herbs that would help with my pain ans help the nerves as well?

I do not want to take pain medicines if I can help it so I am looking for herbs or other remedies that would help with both the pain and the burning numb feeling I get in my legs due to the damage to my nerves.

Sarah, You are out of luck . No other remedies.
I would suggest Tramadol. A non addictive opiate. Plus a tricyclic antidepressant. These two work wonders. Most pain is toward the evenings. So 2 tramadols at about 5 o’clock does a world of good towards sleeping.
Good luck

If you exercise, and your blood sugar goes down, would nerve damage go away?

I am at high risk of diabetes. But, in my feet It feels numb and it feels like a million needles stingy me at once. This Happens everyday about 7-10 times a day! Does this mean i have to get it ampitated. And if I exercise and lower my sugar level can this pain go away. Do the have medication for this? HELP!!!!!!!!

The only way to know for sure is to get a simple, easy to take blood test. You can ask questions like this all day and you still won’t know. Just go get your blood tested.

I have a fast heartbeat (100+ bpm). They think diabetes damaged my vagus nerve. Should I worry?

I should add that "they" were my diabetes specialists. I am insulin-dependent. An ecg seemed to rule out any irregularities. But my fast heartbeat still worries me,

I don’t know, and that’s a conversation you should really have with your doctor, because they would be the experts on that.

Nerve damage in feet and legs.?

I have nerve damage in my feet and legs due to diabetes. Nothing I do helps. I can’t use normal topical medicines as many contain alcohol. Applying heat and something cool to them doesn’t help either. They also hurt at night when I try to sleep because the blankets, sheets, etc.. irritate them, so I don’t get much sleep. I’m tired of being tired. Any remedies out there?

Eat Bananas or get the doctor to prescibe amitriptyline.
