there are 2 different measurements for blood sugar levels, mmol’s and mg/d (which is what is used in the united states) i believe every other counter uses mmol’s.

you can convert the mmol’s to mg/d numbers by multiplying it by 18, so 6.3 is 113. wish i knew more so i could answer more, but that is why the meters show different readings depending on where you live.

Hey! Thanks for that! It was very interesting, and I am glad that you decided to share! :)
    - Quick questions for ya (or whoever can answer…) –> Most of the meters that I have seen show numbers in the 80-300 range, with the exception of yours, and my friend’s (who go from around 1-somewhere above 10) . What is the difference and what is considered average/high on your type of meter?
Thanks again for this! You are awesome! :)

I’ve had diabetes for almost 40 years and I can tell you that it only gets worse as you grow older. Keeping fit and moderate blood sugars is your best defense against complications. I’ve had more problems caused by low sugars than from being high. I’ve been trucked off in insulin shock many times to awaken in a hospital. I can’t use a pump. I didn’t like it attached to me and if it quits working your sugars will climb rapidly. Diabetes sucks so good luck.

i’m 10 and i diagonsed with type 1 diabetes when i was 16 monthes old. so i have to my finger. sometimes it stops me from doing physical things because my number either gets to high or too low. i wanted to tell you that i have a pump which gives me insulin with out using a needle. and its very easy to use. fist you put in your number, than how many carbs you are eating, than it tells you how much insulin to give her. but you would have to take it of in the water.

She the side of her finger and it is a very fine needle and is very quick. Her fingertips get a little bit sore sometimes so she uses Hypercal cream (homeopathic) to help them heal. The devices they used in hospital for pricking fingers were much more vicious!

If there’s a possibility that you have diabetes Type I, it seems dangerous to me to be waiting until January, especially if the numbers are high on the meter. Please don’t wait. Check it out today! If you have it, you could become very ill if you don’t get treatment soon. My daughter was very thirsty, peeing a lot and lost 6kg in a month before I realised something was seriously wrong and thank goodness we got her to hospital before anything terrible happened. Please act now.

I’m tweleve too. I think I may have diabetes and my parents are getting me tested in janurary. I have constant urination and I’m VERY thirsty 24/7. Also I seem to be loosing weight. I bought myself a meter to try it and the numbers are high. I’m glad to see your handiling it well!
