Not necesarily true. But if you wish to continue believing that what you’ve been told is sound science, I cannot persuade you otherwise.

    there diffrent due …
there diffrent due to the source, type 2 is a result of fluctuating glucose levels that stop beta cells responding, type 1 is considered a combination of viral trigger and several genes that contribute an increased risk of the condition, SHE is TYPE 1, she is propably on a extremley low carbohydrate diet (pseudo atkins) that allows here to oveerlook insulin altogether this propably is not that halthy long term.

  4. NaughtyKitty23 Says:

    she needs to look …
she needs to look up the definition of type 1 and type 2… they are different. as a type 1 you can live without taking insulin if your in a honeymoon period like i am, but once your dependent it doesn’t change. your ed.

  5. Litenz Says:

    Bah, as a type 1 …
Bah, as a type 1 diabetic you can’t magically “change” to become a type 2… it’s two different diseases.
She must have been type 2 from the start. As a type 2 you might need insulin, but if you change your lifestyle i.e. exercise and eat healthy you can manage without insulin injections.

    could she be more …
could she be more misinformed? None of what she said makes sense!

  8. sarahlovestoby Says:

if u are type one …
if u are type one and in the honeymoon period, your pancreas has obviously not completely quit producing insulin. Once it does, you too will have to take insulin. I went through the same thing.

  9. AbqStephanie Says:

    I am a type 1 …
I am a type 1 diabetic {YES I am so please don’t tell me that I was misdiagnosed} and I am currently on my honeymoon period. During this time, I have managed to control my BG with diet & exercise which = no insulin for over a year now. I respect all you type ones who have to take insulin on a day to day basis but please stop saying halle is wrong and open your minds a little bit. She is not the only type one who is not taking insulin.

  10. dancinpolarbear117 Says:

    I am a type one …
I am a type one diabetic and im sorry HAlle but you obviously were never a type 1 diabetic if you could “wean” yourself off insulin. Type 1 means your pancreas is shot.. it doesnt produce insulin so if i “weaned” myself off of my synthetic insulin i would surely go into a coma and die. Type 1 diabetics should not listen to her, it gives them false facts and could cause people to take risks with their own health.

  11. frazier707 Says:

    Unfortunately I …
Unfortunately I can’t “wean” myself off of insulin, as I have no functioning pancreas.

Halli, you really needed to do your homework before you spoke…..

  14. AllieBeatty Says:

    Halle Berry was …
Halle Berry was probably misdiagnosed and lived “dependent” on insulin for years :( All doctors should be legally obliged to run a stimulated C-peptide test, and check for the antibodies that cause TYPE 1 DIABETES: ICA, IAA and GAD65

  15. NickGraceyWATerian Says:

    Halle Berry may …
Halle Berry may well have experienced what Paul Tubiana is discussing about how type 1 diabetes may be cured at his Petition Online website link.

There is a web link to the profound research revealed at Paul’s ‘… online petition …’ just to the right of the Halle Berry video directly above.

Maybe many more type 1 Diabetics could benefit from Paul Tubiana’s research findings published at Diabetes Case Study com ?

What do You say to that ?

    She’s outta her …
She’s outta her freakin mind!!! You never turn from type1 to type 2. Her kidneys are probably about shot since she isn’t taking insulin. How the heck does she function? I’m thinking she never had type1 to begin with or she’d be dead by now.

    It sounds like the …
It sounds like the answer to my question to You …

“… How many times have You had C-peptide results since being diagnosed ? …”

    is…

    NEVER ?

Some T1 Diabetics who were diagnosed more than 50 years ago have been found to retain beta-cell activity apparently related to their adoption of animal insulin?

Which insulin type … watch?v=iL4UMuNml4A … have You adopted ?

  22. clairhashmi Says:

    It’s not even ever …
It’s not even ever mentioned let alone routinly given :( . But it’s a fact that once the “honeymoon” period is over for type 1s there are no longer any insulin producing beta cells left alive to stimulate .once they are gone they are gone forever and nothing will bring them back, they do not renew themselves like some cells, In trials, some have had these cells implanted by doner but they don’t work for long :(

    How many times have …
How many times have You had the stimulated C-peptide test mentioned in this video … watch?v=pys12AyRyg8 … and in the absence of doing such a test [for C-peptide production] every 3 months or every season … how possible is it to monitor possible improvements, in beta-cell activity, via changes in diet and/or changing to animal insulin as compared with GM insulin ?

How many times have You had C-peptide results since being diagnosed ?
