i have pre diabetes, if i exercise and eat right, i can still save my beta cells right?

i heard if you loose your beta cells in your liver, you’re screwed. So if i change my life around, and save some, i’ll be ok?

beta cells are not in your liver, they are in your pancreas and are what produce insulin. The term “pre-diabetic” usually refers to metabolic syndrome which leads to type two diabetes. You can indeed avoid becoming fully diabetic (type two) by changing your lifestyle. That means eating a healthy diet without processed foods, minimizing starchy foods, and commiting yourself to an hour of exercise every day.

Yes, exercise. Avoid sugar and high-carb processed foods. Lose some weight. The problem is with your local cells becoming resistant to the insulin your body is making, and, therefore not opening these cells to allow sugar to enter the cells. It is not a lack of production of insulin. Beta cells are affected in Type I. You are borderline Type II.
